Banzai’s claim-to-fame summer surf camp! Largely for kids (median age is around 14), but open to all ages 8 and over. Surf Camp runs Monday thru Friday every week of summer, from 8:30am to 12:30pm (July 4 & Labor Day are shortened pro-rated weeks). We offer good full wetsuits, a variety of surfboards, and more actual surf-time than any other camp in the area. (Many surf camps overbook and kids ‘share’ equipment) Staffing is one instructor per 2-5 students, depending on conditions.
We have the best beginner location & instructor/student ratio of any surf camp. We often get whole families spending the week with us! (And if you skip a day it’s still cheaper than our group rate).
Pick Up/Drop Off
Our location for drop-offs and pick-ups will be in the red-curb turnaround area at the Brookhurst Street entrance. Our staff will be there to meet you, and this is also a good time to provide us with any information and ask questions. You are free to enter the park, but you may be asked to pay the $15 entrance fee. Additionally, the Brookhurst Street entrance is sometimes closed, so you’ll have to enter north at Magnolia Street and drive south through the parking lot.
